Trump expresses discomfort with mugshot experience, believes he did nothing wrong

In an exclusive interview with Fox News Digital, former President Trump revealed that Georgia officials insisted on taking a mugshot of him during his processing at the Fulton County Jail. Trump expressed discomfort with the situation, stating, “It is not a comfortable feeling—especially when you’ve done nothing wrong.” This incident occurred after Trump turned himself in at the jail as part of District Attorney Fani Willis’ investigation into his alleged attempts to overturn the 2020 presidential election in Georgia.

During the interview, Trump emphasized that this was all about election interference and blamed Washington, the DOJ, and President Joe Biden for the situation. He claimed that the United States is doing poorly, and the country has become a third-world nation. Trump’s bail was set at $200,000, which he promptly paid, leading to his release on Thursday evening.

According to jail records, Trump is 6 feet 3 inches tall, weighs 215 pounds, has blond or strawberry hair, and blue eyes. His formal arraignment, where he is expected to plead not guilty, will take place early next month. Trump is facing charges of violating the Georgia RICO Act, criminal solicitation, criminal conspiracy, filing false documents, and making false statements. Along with Trump, several others, including Mark Meadows, Rudy Giuliani, Sidney Powell, Jenna Ellis, Kenneth Chesebro, Jeff Clark, and John Eastman, have also been charged in the Fulton County probe.

Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis has requested a trial date for Trump and all 18 co-defendants, setting it for October 23. However, only defendant Kenneth Chesebro requested a speedy trial, so the trial date is currently only approved for him. Meanwhile, Trump has replaced his former attorney Drew Findling with Atlanta-based white-collar defense attorney Steven Sadow.

Sadow expressed his belief in Trump’s innocence and hopes for a dismissal of the case or a not guilty verdict from an unbiased jury. He criticized prosecutions that serve the ambitions and careers of political opponents. This Georgia indictment marks the fourth criminal charge against Trump, making him the first former president in U.S. history to face such charges. Prior charges include ones from Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s investigation into hush-money payments made during the 2016 campaign and Special Counsel Jack Smith’s investigation into the retention of classified records and alleged involvement in the Capitol riot and interference in the 2020 election.

Trump pleaded not guilty to all previous charges, including falsifying business records, willful retention of national defense information, conspiracy to obstruct justice, false statements, and conspiracy against rights. As the legal battles continue, Trump remains a focal point of political and legal scrutiny.
