Leandro De Niro, the grandson of renowned actor Robert De Niro, was tragically discovered deceased at a historic building in lower Manhattan on Sunday afternoon, according to authorities.
A spokesperson for the New York Police Department informed Insider that officers promptly responded to a 911 call at 55 Wall Street just before 2:30 p.m. on Sunday. They discovered an unconscious and unresponsive 18-year-old male, who was later identified as De Niro (despite being 19 years old).
EMS declared De Niro deceased at the scene, and the official cause of death will be determined by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
Leandro De Niro is the son of Drena De Niro, Robert De Niro’s eldest daughter, and the artist Carlos Rodriguez.
Raphael De Niro, Robert De Niro’s oldest son, works as a real estate broker and has previously sold apartments at Cipriani Wall Street, as reported by The Real Deal in 2009.
In an Instagram caption, Drena De Niro wrote, “I have loved you beyond words or description from the moment I felt you in my belly. You have been my joy, my heart, and all that was ever pure and real in my life. I wish I was with you right now. I wish I was with you.” (source)

Cipriani Wall Street, formerly known as the National City Bank Building, has a rich history and currently houses luxury apartments, hotel rooms, event spaces, and the exclusive social club “Casa Cipriani,” which is inspired by traditional wealth. At one point, it even accommodated the New York Stock Exchange (source).
