Teens Allegedly Involved in Carjacking Incident in MoVal, Attempting to Evade Police

Four individuals, consisting of three boys and a girl, have been apprehended and are now in custody for their alleged involvement in a carjacking incident. The incident took place at Shadow Mountain Park in Moreno Valley, California, during the early hours of Thursday. The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department provided details of the incident.

According to Sgt. Alfredo Medina, the victim, a resident of Moreno Valley, had parked his sedan at the park and was seated in the backseat with his date, a local girl. Suddenly, two boys wearing black masks approached them, armed with pistols. The suspects positioned themselves on opposite sides of the car and proceeded to open the rear doors.

Sgt. Medina stated, “The guns were aimed at the victim, who was then ordered to exit the vehicle. The two African-American males, along with the female, fled in the victim’s car. Interestingly, the female did not exhibit any signs of distress or call for assistance.”

The victim promptly dialed 911 without sustaining any injuries, prompting the authorities to launch a search for the culprits. Medina confirmed that a pursuit ensued approximately two hours later when a Riverside police patrol unit spotted the stolen vehicle on the east side of the city. However, the chase came to an abrupt end as the car lost control and crashed near the intersection of Kansas Avenue and Third Street.

Upon examination of the vehicle, Medina reported, “Inside the car, we found four juveniles – three males and the female whom the victim had identified. Furthermore, the vehicle contained a black toy pistol, a black 9mm handgun, and two black masks.”

The identities of the suspects have not been revealed. They were taken to a hospital for treatment of minor injuries and subsequently booked into Riverside Juvenile Hall. Charges include auto theft and other allegations.
