A highly exclusive British brand that caters exclusively to its members has set its sights on upstate New York. Soho House, a UK-born private club that recently celebrated its anniversary in New York City, has announced plans for its first countryside retreat in the US. This new venue, located in the posh town of Rhinebeck in the Hudson Valley, will be called Soho House Rhinebeck and will be situated on the historic Grasmere estate. While an opening date has not yet been announced, Soho House promises a unique experience that blends nature, history, and luxury. The facility will feature restored 19th-century buildings, including a grand manor house, and will offer various amenities such as dining options, outdoor activities like hiking and cycling, as well as spa and wellness services. The design will pay homage to the nearby woodlands and incorporate elements from the historic Roycrofters arts and crafts movement of the 1800s. This expansion is part of Soho House’s plan to open 20 new locations worldwide by 2025, with upcoming clubs set to open in Mexico City, Portland, Sao Paulo, and Charleston. The brand sees great potential in growing across North America, particularly in thriving cities where individuals have relocated post-Covid.
