A Riverside skin care clinic proprietor and physician was arrested on Tuesday on suspicion of sexually assaulting a patient.
Dr. Sam Sannoufi, a 52-year-old resident of Newport Beach, was taken into custody and booked into Riverside’s Robert Presley Jail on charges of sexual battery and forcible digital penetration.
After posting a $1 million bond, Sannoufi was released within a few hours.
Earlier this month, a woman contacted the Riverside Police Department’s Sexual Assault-Child Abuse Unit and reported that she had been assaulted during a consultation at Sannoufi’s Timeless Skincare Laser Clinic Primary Care, located at 6900 Brockton Ave.
The specifics of the alleged offense and the victim’s identity have not been disclosed.
Officer Ryan Railsback of the Riverside Police Department stated that after gathering enough evidence, detectives from the Sexual Assault-Child Abuse Unit obtained an arrest warrant. Sannoufi was then brought into custody without incident at the Orange Street station.
“Investigators suspect there may be other victims who have not yet come forward,” said the police spokesperson.
Individuals with any information regarding the case were urged to contact SACA investigators at 951-353-7950.
Sannoufi does not have any prior documented convictions for misdemeanors or felonies in Riverside County.
According to the Medical Board of California, Sannoufi has been a licensed doctor in the state since March 2009. He graduated from the Ukrainian State Medical University in Kyiv and has no reported disciplinary actions, administrative citations, or malpractice suits on record with regulators.
