Several shocking photos have emerged, capturing the harrowing moment a single mom almost lost her life in front of her children after injecting herself with a counterfeit weight-loss drug she purchased off the internet. Michelle Sword, a 45-year-old mother of two from Oxfordshire, England, collapsed and suffered a seizure at her home in September when her blood sugar plummeted to dangerously low levels following her self-administered injection. The drug Sword injected is suspected to be from the GLP-1 RA family, which includes semaglutide, the active ingredient in Ozempic and Wegovy, although she did not specify the specific shot she used. In a statement to Kennedy News, Sword revealed that she had previously tried this drug legitimately in 2020 and found success in weight loss. However, in her efforts to obtain the medication without a doctor’s prescription this year, she resorted to purchasing it online from a company that assured her it was the official drug. The drug, which cost her $190, appeared identical to the legitimate one and was delivered to her door without any medical scrutiny. Just 15 minutes after administering the injection, Sword began feeling ill and collapsed, prompting her young daughter to seek help from a neighbor. Paramedics managed to revive Sword and stabilize her blood sugar levels, which had dropped to dangerously low levels. Ultimately, Sword regained consciousness but was told by doctors that she was lucky to be alive, having narrowly escaped a life-threatening situation. Reflecting on her experience, she expressed deep regret and urged others not to take such risks with their lives, emphasizing the importance of seeking legitimate means in obtaining weight-loss medication.
