Sept. 22 (UPI) — In a highly competitive category for Guinness World Records, an Indian man has reclaimed the title for the fastest time to drink a Capri Sun.
Fayis Nazer successfully completed the challenge in a remarkable 8.02 seconds, becoming the first person to achieve this feat in under 10 seconds.
The previous record of 10.41 seconds was held by German man André Ortolf in December 2022, and prior to that, Nazer himself held the title with a time of 11.86 seconds.
Originally set in 2021 by British man Declan Evans, who completed the task in 16.65 seconds, the record was later broken by Leah Shutkever in the same year, with a time of 15.71 seconds.
To attempt the record, challengers must place both hands flat on a table and are only allowed to unwrap the straw and pierce the pouch once the timer starts.
The Guinness World Records team revealed that this category has been fiercely contested, with over 100 applications received since they shared a video of Ortolf’s attempt in April.
Aside from his latest achievement, Nazer holds other Guinness World Records titles, including fastest time to eat 80 g of watercress (37.68 seconds), fastest time to peel and eat three clementines (30.39 seconds), and most hula hoop rotations on the arm in 1 minute (274).
