The stage show, entitled Christmas Actually, is not a direct adaptation of Richard Curtis’ beloved 2003 holiday film, but rather a unique production featuring live music, Christmas stories, poetry, and comedy performed by a star-studded celebrity lineup.
From December 7 to 11, this limited engagement will take place at the prestigious Royal Festival Hall in London’s Southbank Centre.
Richard Curtis, the co-founder of Comic Relief alongside Sir Lenny Henry, expressed his excitement about the show, stating, “I hope this will be the perfect Christmas show: exuberant, emotional, full of surprises, jokes, and a touch of celebrity sparkle. And I know it will serve a greater purpose in supporting wonderful projects that positively impact lives, both in the UK and worldwide, 365 days a year.”
The show will be directed by Daniel Raggett, renowned for his work on the recent West End revival of Accidental Death of an Anarchist. Described as a “treasure trove of entertainment,” Christmas Actually will feature iconic Christmas songs performed by a live band, real-life stories, poetry readings, and hilarious celebrity performances of festive cracker jokes.
