Strictly Come Dancing star Amy Dowden made a bold statement at the Pride Of Britain Awards as she continues her battle against breast cancer. The 33-year-old, who recently underwent a mastectomy for stage three breast cancer, arrived at the event wearing a stunning off-the-shoulder pink dress adorned with a silk bow.

This appearance comes just a day after Dowden surprised everyone with her presence on the Strictly Come Dancing live show. Although she is unable to participate in the current season due to her ongoing treatment, Dowden took the opportunity to read the voting terms and conditions.

In an emotional Instagram post following her appearance, Dowden expressed her gratitude to her Strictly Come Dancing family, stating, “There are no words to describe the pure joy and happiness I felt last night being back with my @bbcstrictly family. It is their love and support that gave me the courage to decide last minute to step out and brave the bald.”

Another familiar face on the red carpet was former Strictly Come Dancing professional Oti Mabuse. She wore a stunning studded black dress by Isabell Kristensen, paired with black Jimmy Choo court heels and a Tyler Ellis bag. This year has been eventful for Mabuse, who, in August, announced that she and her husband Marius Iepure are expecting their first child after deciding to stop trying to conceive.

The Pride of Britain Awards also saw the presence of Girls Aloud stars Nicola Roberts and Kimberley Walsh. Roberts stunned in a burgundy strapless dress, while Walsh donned a beautiful white one-shouldered gown. Girls Aloud, formed on the TV show Popstars: The Rivals in 2002, enjoyed several hit tracks including “Sound Of The Underground” and “The Promise,” which earned them a Brit Award.

The Daily Mirror Pride Of Britain Awards will be aired on ITV at 8pm on October 12, with Carol Vorderman and Dancing On Ice judge Ashley Banjo serving as hosts.
