Police: Man Allegedly Murders Woman Using Stolen Forklift in Ramming Incident

  • A 73-year-old woman has tragically lost her life, leading to the arrest of a Maryland man on charges of first-degree murder.
  • The suspect allegedly stole a forklift from a Lowe’s store and maliciously used it to ram into the woman.
  • Tragically, the woman, who was a complete stranger to the suspect, was fatally injured and pronounced dead at a Home Depot parking lot.

A man in Maryland has been charged with first-degree murder following an incident where he allegedly stole a forklift from a Lowe’s Home Improvement Store, of which he used intentionally to strike a woman in the parking lot of a nearby Home Depot.

The Charles County Sheriff’s Office announced via a Facebook post on Monday that they responded to reports of an ongoing burglary and theft at the Lowe’s Home Improvement Store in Waldorf, Maryland, at approximately 12:40 a.m. on Sunday.

The incident occurred in Waldorf, which is approximately 60 miles southwest of Baltimore.

According to the sheriff’s office, the 20-year-old suspect, identified as Bryce Caleb Timothy Brown, illegally entered the store premises, stole a forklift, and deliberately broke through the back gates of the establishment.

Upon entering the Home Depot parking lot with the stolen forklift, the suspect inexplicably proceeded to ram it into a parked vehicle. A woman, who had been sleeping in that car, managed to exit the vehicle and began running away after the impact, as reported by the sheriff’s office.

However, the suspect pursued and tragically struck her with the forklift before stealing her car and fleeing the scene. Regrettably, the victim, later identified as 73-year-old Gloristine Pinkney, did not survive her injuries and was found underneath the forklift.

Law enforcement confirmed that there was no prior connection between the suspect and the victim.

Bryce Caleb Timothy Brown was apprehended on the evening of Sunday, and authorities discovered the victim’s car near his residence.

He is currently detained at the Charles County Detention Center without bond and faces charges of first-degree murder, second-degree murder, assault, theft, and other related offenses.

Insider made attempts to contact Brown’s legal representatives for a statement but was unsuccessful in reaching them. Both Lowe’s Home Improvement Store and Home Depot have not yet responded to Insider’s request for comment.
