The shooter, Audrey Hale, had been planning the massacre for months and fired 152 rounds during the attack before being killed by police. While Hale was receiving treatment for an undisclosed emotional disorder, there has been no disclosed link between the care received and the shooting. The tragic incident claimed the lives of three children, Evelyn Dieckhaus, Hallie Scruggs, and William Kinney, as well as three adults, Katherine Koonce, Mike Hill, and Cynthia Peak.
