MANILA, Philippines — Tropical Storm Paeng (international name: Nalgae) has accelerated as it got closer to the Philippine landmass before noon Friday, the state weather service said.
More areas were also placed under Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 2 and No. 1 with Paeng’s location last marked 220 kilometers east-northeast of Borongan City, Eastern Samar.
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said Paeng was still moving west-northwest but currently at 25 kilometers per hour (kph) — faster than the 15 kph recorded early Friday morning.
