The NFL season kicks off Thursday night when the Buffalo Bills visit the defending Super Bowl champions Los Angeles Rams. The game begins at 8:20 p.m. and will be broadcast nationally on NBC.
This game features the favorite to win the Vince Lombardi Trophy, but it isn’t the team trying to repeat. The Bills are the +600 favorites to win the Super Bowl at BetMGM, while the Rams come in at 11/1. Buffalo is also a small favorite on the road here, further proof of how high the betting market is on the Bills entering the season.

Bills vs. Rams prediction
Buffalo had to sit around for seven months with a bad taste in its mouth after that gut-wrenching playoff loss to the Chiefs. Many people believe (me included) that if the Bills won that game, they would have represented the AFC in the Super Bowl.
These are arguably the two most talented rosters in the NFL. The offenses are loaded but both teams are expected to be among the best in the NFL as well, making it a difficult game to handicap. I do think this game should be closer to pick ’em though, so there is some value on Sean McVay’s Rams catching a couple of points at home.
Betting on the NFL?
The Super Bowl champions got even better this offseason with the additions of WR Allen Robinson and LB Bobby Wagner. This should be a tight game throughout but with the Bills being a little overvalued entering the season, I’ll side with the home ’dogs in the opener.
The play: Rams +2.5 -110 (BetMGM)
