New Details of the Upcoming Mass Effect Game Teased by BioWare
After three years, BioWare has finally revealed a video teaser for the new Mass Effect game. The 30-second clip has left fans with more questions than answers, but it does provide an initial look at the characters and storyline in the new sci-fi role-playing game.
As part of N7 Day, an annual Mass Effect celebration, BioWare released the teaser in sections, offering decoded text messages that hint at the characters in the teaser. These text messages provide clues and quotes attributed to various characters from the game.
There are references to the Oculon and the year 2819, which are connected to the game’s story set in the Andromeda galaxy. The teasers suggest that there is a distress signal originating from the Andromeda galaxy and possibly being answered from the Milky Way. The year of the transmission is intentionally redacted, adding to the mystery.
Mike Gamble, project director and executive producer on the new Mass Effect game, hinted that the new game will be a sequel to both Mass Effect 3 and Mass Effect: Andromeda, potentially featuring both galaxies. The teaser leaves fans guessing about the return of specific characters and the possibility of Commander Shephard’s return in the post-Andromeda setting.
The next Mass Effect game was announced in 2020, and BioWare’s next project is Dragon Age: Dreadwolf. Fans can expect more teasers and updates to come as everyone eagerly awaits the new Mass Effect game.
