Maximize Vehicle Electrification with Toyota’s Cutting-Edge Hybrid Cars

According to a senior executive, Japanese auto major Toyota believes that hybrid cars will be the ideal solution for scaling up the use of electrified vehicles in India.

In a virtual press briefing prior to the Japan Mobility Show, Toyota Daihatsu Engineering and Manufacturing Co-Executive Vice President Pras Ganesh stated that different green technologies are needed to cater to the diverse needs of different regions in a vast country like India.

Ganesh noted that based on Indian statistical testing, hybrid electric vehicles are an optimal solution as they contribute zero-emission for around 40% of the distance and 60% of the time.

He further emphasized that hybrid vehicles are a good solution for areas like Delhi, Bengaluru, rural parts, and higher altitude regions, while battery electric vehicles and hydrogen also have their own advantages.

Toyota Kirloskar Motor, a joint venture between Toyota Motor Company and Kirloskar Group, recently unveiled a prototype of the world’s first BS VI (Stage II) flex fuel vehicle, reaffirming their belief in the need for various green technologies.

In conclusion, Ganesh stated that India, being a large country, will require all different solutions to continue growing in terms of electrified vehicles.
