Massive Chemical Plant Fire Forces Evacuations in Houston Area
A massive fire at a chemical plant near Houston is currently leading to evacuations, as reported by local authorities.
All plant employees have been confirmed safe, with only one worker sustaining a minor burn injury, according to Sound Resource Solutions, the owner of the plant.
Evacuations are underway in the town of Shepherd, stated the San Jacinto County Sheriff’s Office.
Residents of Livingston, located several miles north of Shepherd, have been instructed to stay indoors and turn off air conditioning systems until further notice by the Livingston police.
Thick black smoke has been observed billowing from the plant
Shepherd is situated approximately an hour north of Houston.
