Man shot to death outside engagement party in Northridge – Orange County Register

An altercation at a large engagement party in Northridge led to a shooting that left one man dead, police said Monday, Sept. 5.

Los Angeles police have not arrested the shooter, and on Monday asked for the public’s help in finding him.

The victim, 29-year-old Edgar Rodriguez of Anaheim, and the suspect attended the party Sunday with several hundred other party-goers at a large banquet hall, according to an LAPD statement.

Rodriguez, the suspect, and several other party-goers got into an “altercation,” police said. The suspect, who had a handgun, opened fire and hit Rodriguez multiple times in the upper torso, police said.

At 11:11 p.m., officers responded to a call of a man shot in a parking lot near the 19500 block of Parthenia Street. Rodriguez died at the scene.

There was no description of the suspect.
