She also questioned who is accountable for the incident and called for the prosecution and imprisonment of those who commit such crimes. However, her comments drew criticism from Democrat leaders who accused her of gaslighting and pandering to MAGA supporters and not showing empathy for the victims. The shooting left two people dead and several others injured, while a suspect is currently facing murder charges. Richmond Mayor Levar Stoney also expressed his sadness over the incident, stating that it should not be happening anywhere, and that it is a cowardly, senseless act.
