Actress Laura Dern then took the stage to honor Sheryl Crow, highlighting her impressive career, activism, and influence in the music industry. Crow then joined Nicks on stage to perform the iconic song “Strong Enough,” before bringing Peter Frampton on stage for a memorable rendition of “Everyday Is a Winding Road.”
During her acceptance speech, Crow expressed her gratitude for being inducted into the Hall of Fame alongside one of her idols, Willie Nelson. She thanked her parents for exposing her to various music greats and acknowledged the impact they had on her musical journey. When it was time for Willie Nelson’s induction, musician Dave Matthews paid tribute to the country music legend. Nelson performed some of his greatest hits with Chris Stapleton and expressed his gratitude for the honor of being included in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.
Missy Elliott was the final artist to be inducted and delivered an electrifying performance, showcasing her iconic hits like “Get Ur Freak On,” “Work It,” and “Lose Control.” As the first female rapper to be inducted, Elliott expressed her gratitude for her journey and the incredible people she has met along the way.
Other notable moments from the night included Miguel, Adam Levine, and Carrie Underwood’s tribute to George Michael, as well as Elton John’s tribute to his long-time collaborator, Bernie Taupin.
