LA County Gas Prices Drop for 31st Straight Day

The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County dropped Saturday for the 31st consecutive day since rising to a record, dipping two-tenths of a cent to $5.527.

The average price has dropped 96.7 cents over the past 31 days, including nine-tenths of a cent Friday, to its lowest amount since Sept. 20, according to figures from the AAA and the Oil Price Information Service. It is 11.7 cents less than one week ago and 96.7 cents lower than one month ago, but 93.7 cents more than one year ago.

The Orange County average price rose three-tenths of a cent for the second consecutive day, to $5.42, one day after 29-day streak of price decreases ended. It is 9.8 cents less than one week ago and $1.039 cents lower than one month ago, but 87.6 cents more than one year ago.
