`Jurassic World Dominion’ Makes $58.6M to Lead Box Office Again

“Jurassic World Dominion” kept its spot atop the box office rankings in its second weekend in North American theaters, pulling in $58.6 million to outpace the opening of Pixar’s “Lightyear,” according to industry estimates released Sunday.

The latest installment of the dinosaur franchise — which stars Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard and brings back Laura Dern, Jeff Goldblum and Sam Neill from director Steven Spielberg’s original 1993 film, “Jurassic Park” — is coming off a $143 million opening weekend.

“Lightyear,” a spinoff from the “Toy Story” films starring Chris Evans as the voice of Buzz Lightyear, made $51 million for second place, Comscore reported. Pixar had high expectations for the film, which had a production budget of $200 million, according to reports in multiple trade publications.
