NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — The son of Chief of Police John Drake, John Drake Jr., has been tragically found dead.
On Saturday, Oct. 21, two La Vergne Police officers were shot after stopping to investigate a potential stolen vehicle. One officer was struck in the shoulder, while the other was hit in the forearm and groin.
Thankfully, both officers have been identified and are now in stable condition. However, the suspect, John Drake Jr., remained at large until a three-day manhunt ultimately revealed that he had taken his own life on Tuesday night.
The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation has indicated that initial findings suggest Drake Jr. died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
