After a 139-120 win over the Washington Wizards on Wednesday, Magic guards Jalen Suggs and Cole Anthony showcased their skills with a show-stopping alley-oop off a steal, a deliberate nod to Dwyane Wade’s iconic photo with LeBron James during their Miami Heat years.
In the photo, Anthony throws down a slam over Wizards guard Landry Shamet while Suggs reenacts Wade’s pose with outstretched arms, creating a moment of great artistry and skill. The play immediately drew comparisons and appreciation for the thought that went into it, much like the James-Wade image captured by Associated Press photographer Morry Gash on Dec. 6, 2010 in Milwaukee.
At 13-5, winners of eight straight games, and with unexpected success, the Magic are commanding attention in the Eastern Conference. Their recent form has been exceptional, with Suggs contributing 22 points, three rebounds, three assists, and two steals, while Anthony added 26 points, six rebounds, and five assists in the victory over the Wizards.
