Intersection Dedicated in Honor of Late Boys & Girls Club President

An intersection near the Boys & Girls Club of San Fernando Valley in Pacoima was dedicated Saturday as LeRoy Chase Square honoring the club’s late longtime president and CEO.

Chase was president of the club from 1968 until his death in 2018 at the age of 73, helping oversee its growth from a small storefront building then known as the Boys Club into a multi-structure facility built in the mid-1980s while several other chapters in the area closed.

“His dedication to the youth in Pacoima and the surrounding community was rooted in his strong belief that all children, regardless of their background, deserve every opportunity to achieve their greatest potential,” Councilwoman Monica Rodriguez said in her motion to dedicate the square in Chase’s honor.
