Dad the car guru

In conjunction with Albany’s Dad Fest, the Dad Fest Classic Car Show returns courtesy of the Albany Parking Authority. Antique and  classic cars, as well as cool rides dating through the 1980s will line the roadways that weave through Washington Park. Prizes will be awarded to more than 30 vehicles in a variety of categories, including The Mayor’s Pick and Kids’ Pick.

Dad the history buff

A celebration of New York’s rich history will take place at dozens of historic sites across the state as part of the Pass Through History Weekend. Locally, you can take a guided tour of the Lake George Battlefield or the Fort William Henry Museum, both key sites in the French and Indian War and the American Revolution. You can  also observe an archaeological excavation at the Knickerbocker Mansion in Troy. Adults and children 10 and older with a supervising adult are welcome to join a team of experienced archaeologists in looking for the circa 1707 house built by Johannes Knickerbocker I.
