Curiosity is in the air as the 4-4 Jets gear up to take on the 4-5 Raiders in their first-ever road trip to Las Vegas. The game will be held in Allegiant Stadium at 8:20 p.m. ET, and it’s anyone’s guess who will come out on top in this matchup between two long-standing rivals.
Jets QB Zach Wilson may have struggled recently, but there’s still hope for him to have a breakout game, especially if the offensive line can support a strong ground game led by Breece Hall. With Hall’s explosive performance in their recent game against Denver, the Jets are hoping he can continue to dominate the Raiders’ weak run defense.
To give Wilson the best chance in the passing game, the offensive line will need to keep DE “Mad Maxx” Crosby at bay and allow him to connect with his receivers, including Garrett Wilson, Allen Lazard, and TE Tyler Conklin.
Defensively, the Jets have a statistical advantage, ranking ninth in total yards allowed per game and third in net pass yards allowed. The team will be looking to pressure rookie QB Aidan O’Connell, who is stepping in for the injured Jimmy Garoppolo, and force turnovers with their impressive lineup of pass rushers and cover team.
Having previously caused trouble for rookie QBs, the Jets are aiming to disrupt O’Connell’s performance, despite the support he has from veteran stars Davante Adams and Josh Jacobs.
