Jesse Watters: Tanya Chutkan’s Gag Order on Donald Trump Implies Imprisonment for “Talking” (Watch the video below.)
Despite this not being entirely true, it didn’t prevent Fox News host Jesse Watters from delivering a sermon about the restriction imposed on the GOP’s 2024 presidential candidate frontrunner.
According to Watters, “They want to throw President Trump in prison for talking. We fought a revolution so we could speak freely. Judges do not possess absolute authority, and just like you and me, Donald Trump has the right to express himself as he pleases.”
Chutkan issued a gag order on Monday, prohibiting Trump from making inflammatory statements about prosecutors, witnesses, and judges’ staff due to concerns raised by special counsel Jack Smith that they could intimidate potential jurors and witnesses.
Nonetheless, Trump, who stands accused of conspiring to overturn the 2020 election results in the federal case presided over by Chutkan, remains free to criticize the Justice Department and make unsubstantiated claims that the case is politically motivated, as reported by The Associated Press.
Watters took this opportunity to launch a dubious attack on the motivations behind the gag order.
As Watters expressed, “Today, a Washington, D.C. judge, Tanya Chutkan, an Obama donor from Jamaica, slapped the man who is currently surpassing Joe Biden in the polls with a gag order. Biden’s special counsel, Jack Smith, asked the judge to strip Donald Trump of his First Amendment rights during an election, and the judge agreed.”
He continued, “Judge Chutkan ruled that Donald Trump, the likely Republican presidential nominee, is not allowed to criticize the prosecutor who is attempting to imprison him. And Donald Trump is also forbidden from criticizing any potential witnesses in the January 6 trial. Speaking out about Joe Biden’s attempt to arrest him could result in Donald Trump’s arrest.”
However, Watters did offer one unquestionable assessment of Trump: “He’s ungaggable.”
