Additional shipments of resources are being provided to Israel, including interceptors for the Iron Dome system. The US expects Israel to require more interceptors beyond what is already included in the aid package. Other weapons sought by Israel, such as air-to-ground systems and tank rounds, could be readily supplied by US manufacturers. The shape of the conflict and the possibility of a ground offensive by Israel in Gaza will determine the country’s need for more armaments. If a conflict with Hizbollah were to occur, it would significantly increase Israel’s weapons needs and put it in competition with Ukraine for US supplies.
