- Israeli TV presenter Guy Pines confirms Bruno Mars’ departure from the country
Bruno Mars has canceled his highly anticipated second sold-out show in Tel Aviv, Israel, due to the recent wave of Hamas attacks from Gaza.
The show, scheduled to take place at Hayarkon Park on October 7, was canceled by Live Nation Israel, the show’s organizer, in response to the ongoing violence in the region.
Israeli television presenter Guy Pines confirmed that Bruno Mars and his crew left the country on Saturday afternoon amid the escalating conflict.
According to The Times of Israel, Pines shared an Instagram Story showing Mars and his crew at the departures terminal at Ben Gurion airport. In the caption, he explained that Mars would be continuing his tour in Qatar after leaving Israel.
Mars’ canceled show would have made him one of the few artists, alongside Madonna and Michael Jackson, to have performed two sold-out shows at Hayarkon Park.
The artist surprised the audience during his first show by speaking a few words in Hebrew, as reported by Haaretz.
Representatives for Bruno Mars have not yet responded to a request for comment regarding the cancellation.
Israel has declared a “state of war” in response to the attacks carried out by Hamas. The conflict has resulted in the deaths of hundreds of Israelis, both civilians and military personnel.
