Go bananas: Athletes to help find Ireland’s Fittest School

Olympians Phil Healy and David Gillick have recorded a series of workouts to help find Irelands Fittest School.

ork sprinter Healy and Dublin athlete Gillick developed the workouts for schools to use as part of their PE curriculum and to enter the competition.

They say the workouts are fit for “even the least active” students and encourage all schools to enter.

The school that is deemed Ireland’s Fittest School will receive a visit from the pair and win €5,000 worth of sports equipment.

The winner will be the school that has accumulated the most “banana points” throughout the competition, sponsored by Fyffes.

Schools receive banana points for the number of exercises completed and what percentage of students in the school took part.

Teachers must submit an image or video to have each activity validated. There will also be monthly and spot prize rewards for all schools that get involved.
