Honda has unveiled more details about its first electric vehicle (EV), the Prologue, which is set to be released in early 2024. The Prologue will offer up to 300 miles of range and is expected to have a starting price in the high $40,000 range. This EV crossover, based on Honda’s Ultium platform, features a stylish design that remains true to Honda’s classic aesthetic. With the longest wheelbase in its class at 121.8 inches, the Prologue is five inches wider and eight inches longer than the popular CR-V model. The interior of the Prologue is equally impressive, with a dash design reminiscent of the Civic or Accord. Innovative features include a two-tiered console, a multi-use tray for smartphones, spacious cupholders, and wireless phone chargers. In terms of technology, the Prologue boasts an 11-inch driver display, an 11.3-inch infotainment screen powered by Google’s operating system, multiple charging ports, and over-the-air update capability. With 136.9 cubic feet of interior space and folding second-row seats, the Prologue offers versatility and ample cargo capacity. The Prologue will come in three trim levels: base EX, Touring, and the top-of-the-line Elite. The Elite trim will feature all-wheel drive and a dual-motor setup with 288 horsepower and 333 lb-ft of torque. The Prologue also supports DC fast charging up to 155 kW, providing 65 miles of range in just 10 minutes. Honda is offering charging packages to Prologue buyers, which include charging credits and installation incentives. The Prologue is expected to hit the market in early 2024, although exact pricing details have not been revealed yet.
