Exciting Update: Mayor Bass and 5 LA City Council Members Head to D.C. for Crucial City Needs Discussion

Los Angeles City leaders are gearing up for an important trip to Washington D.C. next week. They will be meeting with White House officials to advocate for additional resources to address the city’s most urgent needs, according to an announcement made by Mayor Karen Bass’ office on Friday.

The delegation, which includes Bass, Council President Paul Krekorian, and council members Bob Blumenfield, Eunisses Hernandez, Heather Hutt, Traci Park, and Hugo Soto-Martinez, will engage with members of California’s congressional delegation and the Biden administration during their five-day trip. Their agenda will focus on vital issues such as bringing unhoused Angelenos indoors, enhancing public safety, allocating resources for veterans, improving transportation, and increasing access to federal funding, among other priorities.

“In just a few short months, we have shown that working together gets results,” said Bass in a statement. “Our partnership with the federal government has already delivered progress for our city, from bringing unhoused Angelenos indoors to improving our transportation system.”
