Encouraging Imitation: Greg Gutfeld’s Perspective on Incentivized and Permissible Behavior

Welcome to the world’s most daring show. And I don’t just mean because of what I’m wearing underneath this. It’s because this is the rawest truth you’ll hear on television. Recently, a group of about 50 criminals in Los Angeles decided that Nordstrom might as well be synonymous with “free stuff.” Let’s roll the footage.

This crowd raided the store, making off with designer goods worth $100,000. Hold on a second. This is the wrong video. That’s footage from Chicago last week, capturing the mob that looted a 7-Eleven. Last time I checked, Nordstrom doesn’t sell beef jerky. Can we please play the correct one? Go ahead. Alright, so in Los Angeles last week, 50 criminals… Wait a minute, that’s not Los Angeles either. That’s Philadelphia. That’s when kids tore apart a Wawa. That’s the last time I let you guys smoke weed during the production meeting. Let’s try again. So out in California, for God’s sake, who’s operating the video today? Kilmeade? Alright, that’s California, but it’s footage from Glendale last week, where a mob looted $300,000 from an Yves Saint Laurent store. Okay. Okay. There’s Nordstrom. That took a while. But by now, you get the point. This video looks so familiar, even Hunter Biden would notice. Another mob, another ransacking. The only difference this time is that security guards attempted to intervene, but the thieves used bear spray to drive them away. Bear spray, I suppose that’ll be under lock and key now too. And thanks to those jerks, law-abiding citizens won’t be able to obtain the spray they need.

VIDEO SKIT

I never saw that coming at all.

Anyway, I personally witnessed scenes like the ones we saw this weekend during the 2020 Summer of Love when looters decided that what they truly loved was raiding stores. I had never witnessed such rampant criminality, and Lindsay Lohan used to live in my building. So we have to ask, what causes this organized looting? Let’s turn to an expert. I bet these people have to go out and find ways to feed their children because they lack the means.

Well, that’s incredibly foolish. Now, here’s the alarming part. Why is it that when a predominantly white event turns sour, it’s a one-time occurrence? And I’m not talking about my last birthday party when Tom Shillue jumped out of a cake. Let’s take Charlottesville, which was largely attended by white individuals, if I remember correctly. It was disturbing and despicable. Did it happen again? No. There was widespread disgust and condemnation, just like on my honeymoon. However, the same cannot be said for events with racial undertones that turn violent, such as looting mobs.

This is a story we’ve seen so many times that we could just replay old videos. Why does this keep happening? Because it’s clearly being imitated. People tend to mimic behavior if it’s incentivized and allowed. So let’s compare. In Charlottesville, there was condemnation, right? It wasn’t incentivized, so it wasn’t imitated. What about the 2020 Floyd riots? They were incentivized by the refusal to criminalize them, despite causing billions in damage and resulting in at least 25 deaths. There was even a future VP setting up a bail fund for looters, money that could’ve been used to hire her a speech coach. And so, it continued. It was imitated. The point is, the media and its followers cannot deny black individuals the right to imitate bad behavior while simultaneously discouraging them from imitating productive behavior, which they consider selling out to the oppressor. Why are black youth only encouraged or enraged to imitate negative actions? You don’t see Little League coaches showing their teams endless clips of the Mets. I didn’t come up with that joke. I know nothing about baseball. So don’t come at me for it. But I see people leaving in Mets jerseys.

So what will the Democrats say? They’ll blame it on systemic oppression or something of the sort. That’s more of a fortune cookie message than an actual policy. And with this administration, there’s practically no difference. Sometimes I think they get most of their ideas from Panda Express. However, by constantly blaming all white individuals as oppressors, the assumption is made that they aren’t worthy of being imitated or won’t accept that they are. It’s a sad situation because it prevents people from recognizing the excellence of individuals. When you only view things through the filter of oppressor versus oppressed, you’re unable to see individuals and how they act and achieve. Consequently, it becomes impossible to imitate their positive behavior. Will injustices still occur? Absolutely, and that’s terrible. But you can’t let them define you.

Instead, utilize all the tools and lessons you’ve learned, imitating the things successful individuals have done to achieve success. I guarantee you that right now, Jimmy Kimmel is watching a rerun of my last show for the 58th time and asking, “How the heck is this guy doing it?” That’s imitation. Yet, it’s only the media-academic complex that assumes black individuals can only imitate negative examples. This assumption ensures that more young black individuals will imitate bad behavior because anything else is seen as embracing the “white man.” We need to broaden their horizons, expand their choices, and provide them with examples of excellence. All we ever hear about is the carrot or the stick, but personally, I prefer a carrot the size of a stick to teach looters a lesson.
