Warlord’s Ruin: The Ultimate Destiny 2 Dungeon Experience
Bungie’s Destiny 2 has once again raised the bar with its latest dungeon, Warlord’s Ruin. Players are raving about this Dark Souls-esque castle filled with traps, angry Scorn, and an abundance of secrets. What sets this dungeon apart is the inclusion of three full bosses to battle, making for a truly intense and captivating experience. There’s even a perplexing jail cell to escape from, adding an extra layer of complexity for those daring enough to take it on blindly.
The loot pool for Warlord’s Ruin is as diverse as the dungeon itself, with certain pieces of gear dropping in specific locations. This allows players to farm for their preferred weapons or build a complete dungeon armor set. Let’s take a closer look at the loot pools for each encounter.
First Encounter: Rathil Dragoncult Sickle (Strand Sword), Vengeful Whisper (Kinetic Bow), Indebted Kindness (Special Rocket Sidearm), Dark Age Mask (Helmet), Dark Age Fists (Arms), Dark Age Strides (Legs).
Second Encounter: Locus of Wailing Grief, Neem’s Lance (Strand Sniper), Vengeful Whisper (Kinetic Bow), Indebted Kindness (Special Rocket Sidearm), Dark Age Fists (Arms), Dark Age Harness (Chest), Dark Age Class Item.
Third Encounter: Hefn’s Vengeance, Buried Bloodline (Exotic Void Sidearm), Dragoncult Sickle (Strand Sword), Indebted Kindness (Special Rocket Sidearm), Neem’s Lance (Strand Sniper), All Armor Pieces.
One notable feature is the newly unique Indebted Kindness sidearm, which drops from all three encounters, allowing players to farm for it at their leisure. Additionally, all armor pieces can be found in the first two encounters, providing flexibility for those seeking specific pieces.
While Warlord’s Ruin is receiving high praise for its gameplay, some players have expressed disappointment with the loot variety. Aside from the new rocket-powered sidearm and hand crossbow-esque exotic, the remaining gear is comprised of re-skinned items from previous years. Although the armor set is visually appealing, it doesn’t quite meet the standard of previous dungeon offerings.
Despite this, the sheer thrill of playing through Warlord’s Ruin has captivated the Destiny 2 community. Players are already devising speedrun and solo strategies, adding a new layer of excitement to this already popular dungeon. With the future of dungeon releases uncertain, it’s best to savor the experience of Warlord’s Ruin, as it may be the last of its kind for the foreseeable future.
