Devastating Defeat: Falcons steal victory from Packers with a 25-24 comeback win

Falcons Stage Fourth Quarter Comeback, Defeat Packers 25-24

The Falcons made a decisive play at the beginning of the fourth quarter, as Ridder completed a 45-yard pass to Hollins, bringing the ball to the Green Bay 12.

The Packers managed to limit Allgeier and Robinson to only 1-yard gains on first and second down, putting Atlanta in fourth-and-4 after a 4-yard pass to London on third down.

However, Ridder escaped on a fourth-and-4 keeper, narrowing the gap to five points with 11:48 remaining in the game.

The Packers were unable to increase their lead on the next series, going three-and-out after Love’s pass to Malik Heath fell incomplete on third-and-8.

After two 4-yard Allgeier runs, Ridder scrambled for four yards, successfully converting on third-and-2. Robinson then made a 29-yard catch on the sideline, moving the ball to the Green Bay 24.

Karl Brooks tackled Robinson for a 2-yard loss on first down, regaining some momentum for the Packers. Douglas intercepted a third-and-7 slant to Mack Hollins, resulting in a Koo 39-yard field goal that brought the score to 24-22 with 8:10 remaining.

The Packers gained six yards on first down with Dillon but were unsuccessful on the next two carries. Green Bay attempted a sneak but was penalized for a false start on fourth-and-1. With 6:07 left, the Packers punted the ball.

London made a 24-yard gain on a deep ball, reaching the Green Bay 49. On third-and-3, Ridder connected with Robinson for a 10-yard gain on a slant. With a read-option play, Ridder was ruled down one yard short of the first down on a third-and-3.

Falcons coach Arthur Smith challenged the spot of the ball, but the ruling on the field stood, and Atlanta decided to go for it. Ridder pitched the ball to Robinson, who gained an additional seven yards.

On third-and-6, Robinson carried the ball but was stopped just short of the first down. Atlanta let the clock run down to 1 minute before calling a timeout. The Falcons took the lead, 25-24, with Koo’s 25-yard field goal and 57 seconds remaining on the clock.

The Packers took possession of the ball at their own 25 following a touchback. Facing fourth-and-10 after three incomplete passes, Love appeared to complete a pass to Toure for a first down, but the play was ruled incomplete after further review, ending the game.
