Bayern Munich remains determined to lure Harry Kane away from Tottenham Hotspur and is expected to soon submit a new bid for the 30-year-old English captain. Kane’s contract with the Premier League club is set to expire in 12 months.
Reports suggest that Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy met with Bayern CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen and technical director Marco Neppe in London, while Kane continued his training with the rest of the team for Sunday’s pre-season friendly against Shakhtar Donetsk.
Bayern’s interest in Kane has been openly discussed throughout the summer, with Uli Hoeness, the club’s honorary president, revealing that personal terms had already been agreed between the player and the Bundesliga champions. However, previous bids for Kane in July were reportedly rejected.
While Spurs have offered Kane an improved contract, negotiations will not progress until his future is settled.
Kane is not the only Tottenham player facing uncertainty, as captain Hugo Lloris has also struggled to secure a transfer away from the club. Lloris has been given the opportunity to explore potential moves while the team traveled for pre-season matches, but with Paris St Germain signing a young goalkeeper, his options may have diminished.
On the other hand, Giovani Lo Celso, who has been out on loan for the past year and a half, seems to be given an opportunity to prove himself under new manager Ange Postecoglou. The Argentine midfielder has impressed in friendlies and is likely to be part of the squad for the upcoming Premier League season.
Tottenham is open to offers for other senior players and is considering loan moves for young players Alfie Devine and Dane Scarlett, as it is believed that they would benefit from gaining experience elsewhere.
