Washington also benefited from a questionable decision by Atlanta head coach Arthur Smith in the fourth quarter. He opted to go for a two-point conversion despite trailing by 14 points before the touchdown. This decision made little sense given the game’s circumstances, and the Falcons failed to convert the play, earning them no points.
Furthermore, Falcons quarterback Desmond Ridder’s performance was subpar, throwing three interceptions and struggling to hit his targets throughout the game.
