University of Colorado athletic director Rick George has penned a letter to students, urging them to resist the temptation of storming the field at future Buffaloes games held at Folsom Field. This plea from George comes just days before Colorado’s highly anticipated clash with the eighth-ranked USC Trojans.
Considering that the Buffaloes are the underdogs in this matchup, there is a possibility that if they manage to pull off an upset, fans in the stands might be inclined to storm the field.
In his letter, George emphasized the importance of safety and adherence to Pac-12 Conference guidelines.

Although Colorado had a disappointing 1-11 season last year, the team has shown promise this season with a 3-1 start under first-year coach Deion Sanders.
The Buffaloes kicked off their season with an away game against TCU, and then went on to secure back-to-back victories at home against Nebraska and Colorado State, resulting in fans storming the field on both occasions.

While “rushing the field” has been a long-standing tradition in college football, many schools and conferences have recently cracked down on such practices due to the potential safety risks posed to players, coaches, staff, and other fans. Rushing the field at Folsom Field is a violation of both University and Pac-12 regulations,” George stated in his email.
