Clorox warned of significant financial impact due to a cyberattack that disrupted its production last month.
The renowned manufacturer of household products, including bleach and Pine-Sol, disclosed that it doesn’t have a timeline for resuming full operations.
Clorox expects its fiscal first-quarter results to be affected by the cybersecurity breach, resulting in product outages and delays.
Despite the disruptions, Clorox is confident that the threat has been contained. The company plans to gradually restore systems starting next week and eventually resume full production.
Clorox announced the cyberattack on August 14, reporting a breach in its systems. It immediately shut down operations and involved law enforcement agencies to handle the situation.
However, a month later, Clorox states in a securities filing that the attack is still causing extensive disruptions, forcing the company to rely on manual procedures. This has led to a reduction in order processing and fewer products reaching store shelves.
Clorox is not the only company dealing with cyberattacks, as Las Vegas casino giants MGM and Caesars also face similar challenges. MGM has also cautioned about potential financial consequences resulting from the attack.
As a result of the news, Clorox’s stock traded around 1% lower on Monday.
