Sophie Turner is making a bold move in her personal life, signaling a desire for a fresh start. And it’s not just her marriage that she’s distancing herself from.
The “Game of Thrones” star has been navigating her public divorce with singer Joe Jonas, and now she has unfollowed her soon-to-be-ex-sister-in-law, Priyanka Chopra, on Instagram.
Interestingly, Chopra, who is married to Nick Jonas, has also unfollowed Turner. However, it’s unclear who initiated the unfollowing or what led to this mutual decision.
This digital dissolution has left fans puzzled, as Turner and Chopra had previously appeared to be as close as siblings, often referring to themselves as the “J Sisters”.
Despite unfollowing Chopra, Turner still follows Joe, Nick, and Kevin Jonas on Instagram. In fact, she once spoke highly of Chopra, expressing gratitude for the close bond they shared.
During an interview with Elle in 2020, Turner said, “It’s also nice to have built-in girlfriends who are actually really cool, who I can hang out with and we can really talk to each other about, like, how crazy the boys’ lives are. We can relate on so many different levels. It’s like, thank God.”
Interestingly, Turner and Chopra served as bridesmaids at each other’s weddings and even appeared together in the Jonas Brothers’ music video for “Sucker” in 2019. They were known to be very close, and Nick Jonas had even expressed how grateful he was for the friendship between his wife and his brothers’ partners.
In the past, Chopra had publicly congratulated Turner when she received an Emmy nomination for her role in “Game of Thrones.” Chopra expressed her support and love for Turner, celebrating their bond as “JSisters.”
Joe Jonas filed for divorce from Turner in September, and Turner revealed that she learned about the filing through social media. However, the couple has since reached an agreement regarding custody of their two daughters.
As for the rumored beef between Turner and Chopra, it remains to be seen whether fans will ever get any answers.
