Burger King Thailand Launches ‘Real Cheeseburger’: A Meatless Delight with Pure Cheese

Social media’s latest obsession with fast food has taken a unique form: a sesame burger bun stacked with 20 slices of American cheese.

Burger King Thailand’s creation, known as the Real Cheeseburger, intentionally lacks any sauce, pickles, vegetables, or even a patty. It’s often served without melting the cheese.

In response to skeptics, Burger King Thailand took to Facebook to assure customers of its authenticity, stating, “This is not a joke, it’s real!”

The Real Cheeseburger was initially priced at 109 Thai Baht (approximately $3.15) as a limited-time offer, set to end on Thursday.

However, as of Friday, the sandwich was still available for order on the Burger King Thailand website and at one location in Bangkok. The store confirmed that it would continue to offer the Real Cheeseburger until July 20.

Despite the Real Cheeseburger’s lack of culinary acclaim, its towering cheese structure and minimalist ingredients attracted widespread attention.

Social media posts featured customers indulging in the cheesy sandwich, with each bite showcasing the fusion of numerous American cheese slices. Some even attempted the challenge of eating versions with 40 or 100 cheese slices.

While some customers found value in the Real Cheeseburger’s affordable price per cheese slice, others were less forgiving. Critics described it as dry and lacking in flavor, unable to rival a traditional burger.

Fast food companies have a long history of using unconventional food combinations to attract customers.

Notably, Burger King Thailand previously offered a burger with a chocolate bun and fries coated in chocolate sauce. KFC experimented with the Double Down sandwich, replacing the bread with fried chicken. Dunkin’ Donuts introduced a breakfast sandwich housed between glazed donut halves, and Pizza Hut featured a pizza with a crust adorned with mini hot dogs.

Unfortunately, Burger King has confirmed that the Real Cheeseburger will not be available in the United States or anywhere else.
