Nearly a decade after the release of her debut album “Night Time, My Time” on Capitol Records, singer-songwriter Sky Ferreira is reportedly a free agent, following years of public disputes with the label.
Today, eagle-eyed fans noticed that Ferreira is no longer listed on Capitol’s website roster, sparking speculation about her departure. While not conclusive, this is often the only visible indication of a split between an artist and their record label.

A representative for Capitol declined to confirm the news, and a representative for Ferreira did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
The 31-year-old artist has been signed to Capitol since her teenage years. However, since the release of “Night Time, My Time” in Oct. 2013, which suffered from multiple delays and false starts, she has claimed in interviews that Capitol regularly obstructed her career. Allegations include the failure to provide financial support for tours, withholding some of her music from streaming platforms, and refusing to collaborate with her based on her reputation.
The news of her departure from Capitol comes after a recent public push for her release from the label. Similar to the “Free Fiona” campaign, where fans protested Epic Records for its alleged mistreatment of Fiona Apple, supporters of Ferreira recently purchased a digital billboard in Times Square reading “Free Sky Ferreira.” She has long promised the release of her second album “Masochism,” which she believes would come out every year, but it has yet to materialize.
Her fan base received a surprise last year when she released “Don’t Forget,” an ’80s-inspired single that some interpreted as a criticism of Capitol. Lines like “Don’t forget / Oh no, I won’t forget / I don’t forgive” fueled speculation. Following its release, she once again vowed that this signaled the imminent release of “Masochism,” but the wait has continued.
