Body of Rachel Morin, a Mother from Maryland, Discovered Lifeless in Vicinity of Trail

Authorities have confirmed that Rachel Morin, a Maryland mother of five, was the victim of a homicide after her body was found near a popular trail. The search for Morin began after she went missing on Saturday evening when her boyfriend stated that she planned to walk at the Ma & Pa Trail in Bel Air. Her body was discovered on Sunday, and no suspect has been identified at this time.

Sheriff Jeff Gahler emphasized that Morin’s killing could be a random event and stated that there is no ongoing threat to the community. However, he also encouraged people to remain vigilant, vary their exercise routines, and consider carrying alert devices.

Law enforcement has requested the public’s assistance, asking anyone who was in the area over the weekend to share any photos or videos that may be helpful to the investigation. Tips have been pouring in since the request was made, with authorities receiving nearly 100 tips as of early Tuesday.

Rachel Morin had recently entered into a relationship with Richard Tobin, who has faced scrutiny from online observers due to his criminal history of misdemeanor assault and drug charges. Tobin defended himself on Facebook, asserting his innocence and asking for privacy during this difficult time.

Morin’s family has been struck with yet another tragedy, as their 4-month-old niece had also passed away just over a week prior. Funeral and memorial expenses for Rachel Morin are being raised through a GoFundMe campaign.

Authorities have not disclosed Morin’s cause of death at this time.
