Sept. 19 (UPI) — A fascinating incident occurred in Alaska when a Krispy Kreme delivery driver witnessed an extraordinary intruder duo- a mother bear and her cub – looting doughnuts from the back of his delivery van.

The Krispy Kreme Express store manager, Shelly Deano, disclosed that the bears entered the delivery vehicle through its open rear door while the driver was transporting doughnuts to their store. An onlooker photographed the extraordinary event, and the picture was later shared on Facebook by Krispy Kreme Alaska.

“You could hear them breaking open the packages,” Deano told KTUU-TV, “We were trying to beat on the van but they just kept eating all the doughnuts. They ate 20 packages of the doughnut holes, and I believe six packages of the three-pack chocolate doughnuts.”

Fortunately, base security personnel managed to scare away the bears by sounding loud sirens.

Candice Sargeant, the general manager of both the Krispy Kreme stores in Wasilla and the one where the incident took place, considered this as a valuable learning experience for employees. She remarked, “We’ll definitely be learning to slide up our ramp, close the doors, to ensure that bears don’t get back in there again.”
