Following a 138-94 loss against the Philadelphia 76ers, Los Angeles Lakers’ LeBron James expressed the need for significant changes to improve the team’s performance.

During a post-game interview, James told reporters: “What needs to change in order for that not to happen again? Um, a lot.”

Monday marked a historic night for James, as he became the NBA’s all-time leader in career minutes played with 66,319 minutes, surpassing Lakers legend Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s previous record of 66,297 minutes.

This is the second time LeBron has surpassed Kareem for a major milestone in the past two seasons, following last season’s achievement of taking the all-time scoring title from Abdul-Jabbar.

In a humbling experience, Monday’s 44-point loss against the 76ers marked the worst defeat of LeBron’s 21-year NBA career, as reported by Dan Woike of the Los Angeles Times.

LeBron led the Lakers with 18 points on 8-of-12 shooting on Monday but surprisingly didn’t grab a single rebound, while the Sixers’ Tyrese Maxey and Joel Embiid scored 31 and 30 points, respectively, leading their team to victory.

Philly’s strong performance resulted in a 50.5 percent field goal shooting, compared to the Lakers’ 47.0 percent, with a significant difference in three-pointers where the 76ers excelled.

With a convincing win, the Sixers maintained their second-place tie in the Eastern Conference at 12-5, while the Lakers dropped to 10-8. The Lakers will now regroup for a road game against the 2-15 Detroit Pistons on Wednesday.
