Davante Adams shares his honest frustration after a one-catch game: Speechless in disappointment

Raiders receiver Davante Adams vented his frustration over a lack of targets a couple of weeks ago, but unfortunately, the situation hasn’t improved. Adams couldn’t hide his disappointment on the sideline.

After the Raiders’ last series of the night, Adams angrily slammed down his helmet, clenched his fists, and let out a few choice words before burying his head in his hands.

When asked about his performance postgame, Adams had little to say.

“To be honest, I’m at a loss for words right now. I truly am,” expressed Adams, as seen in the video footage from Football Feen. “I wish I could come up with something, but I don’t want it to be blown out of proportion or taken out of context, so I’m just… I genuinely don’t know.”

Although Adams was targeted seven times, he only managed to make one catch for 11 yards, which happened on the first play of the second half.

“There’s definitely frustration,” Adams admitted when asked about his emotions. “But I think that goes without saying.”

Adams also missed a third-down pass that was slightly off-target, and he found himself open for potential 60- and 98-yard touchdowns on two occasions, but Jimmy Garoppolo failed to deliver accurate throws.

The Raiders offense struggled throughout the game, totaling only 157 yards. Their lone scoring drive accounted for 60 of those yards. Garoppolo finished the game 10-of-21 for 126 yards and an interception.

“Maintaining confidence in our offense isn’t difficult,” stated Adams. “But it’s frustrating when we can’t execute the way we know we should.”

So far this season, Adams has only managed to achieve one 100-yard game and hasn’t scored a touchdown in the past five games.

Regarding Adams’ performance, Raiders coach Josh McDaniels said, “Look, he can only do what he can do. As I’ve said before, receivers are at the end of the chain. They need the ball to be delivered to them, and a lot of things have to happen before that. I believe he got open several times and had a few opportunities. One of them got tipped, and a couple were overthrown that could have been big plays. At the end of the day, we need to keep working and do our best in our respective roles. We can’t control each other’s jobs, but we can strive to improve individually. I know Davante does that. He had a great week of practice, and I have no doubt he’ll continue to do so. He’s a true professional.”

With the trade deadline approaching on Tuesday, it wouldn’t be surprising if the Raiders receive calls about Adams following their disappointing performance on Monday night. The question remains whether any team will make a tempting enough offer to persuade the Raiders to part ways with him?
