The ‘Family Guy’ is not a fan of these royal archetypes.
The adult animated comedy on Fox fearlessly insulted Prince Harry and Meghan Markle in a recent episode.
In the show’s 23rd season, cartoon versions of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are depicted poolside after the main character, Peter Griffin, compares himself to the royal couple while sitting at a bar with friends.
Concerned about recovering the money owed to him, Griffin decides that his best option is to emulate the world, just like the royals did when they announced their departure from their roles as senior members of the British monarchy in late 2022.
“I’ll go it alone, just like Meghan Markle and Prince Harry,” declares Griffin.
The scene transitions to Harry and Meghan, who are approached by a Butler attempting to hand Harry a stack of envelopes. “Sir, your millions from Netflix for no one knows what,” he says.
The Prince responds with a wave, saying “put it with the rest of them.” Suddenly, Meghan’s phone alert goes off, prompting her to announce, “Babe, time to do our daily $250,000 sponsored Instagram post for Del Taco.”
The clip concludes with Harry expressing some regret about leaving his privileged life in Britain as he declares, “I shouldn’t have left the made-up nonsense.”
The jab from “Family Guy,” created by writer, actor, and comic Seth MacFarlane and first aired in 1999, is a direct reference to the couple’s infamous failed $20 million Spotify deal.
A source close to the situation told The Post in June 2023 that the Archewell media company launched by Prince Harry, 39, and Markle, 42, didn’t produce enough content to receive the full payout of the multi-million dollar deal the couple signed in 2020.
The appearance of the Sussexes in “Family Guy” is eerily reminiscent of recent comments made by Spotify CEO Bill Simmons, who referred to Meghan and Harry as “f–king grifters.”
This isn’t the first time the couple has served as a punchline for an animated series.
Just eight months earlier, Comedy Central’s long-running hit show “South Park” ridiculed the royal couple in an episode titled “The Worldwide Privacy Tour.”
“Family Guy” airs Sundays at 9:30 p.m. ET
