MANILA, Philippines–The absence of Mikey Williams in the preparation for the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) continues to perplex TNT’s top official.

“He doesn’t want to return home, so what can we do,” said PBA Chairman and TNT’s board representative Ricky Vargas during Tuesday’s press conference at Diamond Hotel.

While the Tropang Giga are busy building up for the upcoming Commissioner’s Cup, Williams remains in the United States, with the season just three weeks away from tip-off.

TNT has already participated in the East Asia Super League, losing 93-75 to Japan’s Chiba Jets despite a close first half.

The 2022 Rookie of the Year played a starring role in Game 6, sealing TNT’s Governors’ Cup title in his last appearance with the team.

Williams also missed TNT’s PBA On Tour exhibition stint.

“The team has been practicing, and he’s still not around,” said Vargas.

“That’s the difficulty,” he added.
