Florida Woman’s Doorbell Alert Wakes Her Up – Caught on Video: Encounter with a Bear!

In a surprising turn of events, a bear triggered a video doorbell alert at a Florida woman’s home in the middle of the night. The footage captured the bear getting up close and personal with the camera.

Elizabeth Martin, the homeowner, shared with FOX 35 that while bears frequently visit her property at night, this was the first time they had set off the alert.

“We’re originally from Louisiana, and our family back home was shocked to hear about the bears. They were familiar with alligators but had no idea there were bears in Florida,” she told the news station.

The bear can be seen in the video, placing its paws on the door and glancing around before jumping down and continuing to explore Martin’s yard. Another smaller bear is also visible in the background.

According to Martin, shortly after moving into her home in Lake County, one of the bears managed to open an outdoor freezer.

“The mother bear dragged our deep freezer off the porch and spilled its contents all over the yard. It was a huge, heavy freezer that I couldn’t even handle on my own, but she managed to drag it out,” she revealed to the news station.

Since then, Martin has secured the freezer to the ground and padlocked it shut.

In another incident from August, a woman in Daytona Beach encountered a bear when she stepped outside with her dog for a late-night walk.

“When I saw something on the porch, I thought it was just cats because they always roam around. So I decided to let my dog bark at the cats and then go back inside to sleep. Imagine my surprise when I realized it was Yogi, the bear,” Gina Helsel shared with FOX 35.

Helsel’s terrified reaction was captured by her Ring doorbell camera as she screamed and rushed back inside with her dog.

“I’ve never been so scared in my life. It was absolutely terrifying. All I could think was ‘Thank goodness I was half-asleep because if I were fully awake, I might have had a heart attack,'” Helsel added.
