Three suspects have been apprehended by the Los Angeles County Sheriff Department for their involvement in a burglary crew that targets residential neighborhoods and retail stores across Los Angeles County. This development was confirmed by the authorities on Friday.
The crew was under surveillance by detectives from the department’s Major Crimes Bureau and the newly formed Organized Retail Theft Task Force. During the surveillance operation, the detectives tracked the suspects as they drove around Los Angeles. They eventually stopped at a residence in a Los Angeles neighborhood, where they proceeded to commit a burglary. Members of the task force arrested them shortly after they left the victim’s home, as reported by the Sheriff’s Information Bureau.
Upon searching the getaway vehicle, detectives found a significant amount of evidence, including two Rolex watches, miscellaneous jewelry, a family portrait of the victims, as well as ski masks, gloves, and burglary tools.
Since the crime took place within the jurisdiction of the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD)’s district, detectives from the LAPD’s Southwest Division were contacted, leading to a joint investigation.
All three suspects have been arrested and taken to the LAPD Southwest Community Police Station, where they have been booked on burglary charges. Bail amounts have been set at $90,000, $200,000, and $150,000 respectively, according to authorities.
Their next court date is scheduled for Friday at the Clara Shortridge Foltz Criminal Justice Center in Los Angeles.
